The interview with Paul Stöckli in Affoltern am Albis
Paul, you have been named best agent for the month of July. What does this award mean to you?
I am very grateful for the number of faithful customers who keep recommending me.
What sets you apart from other agents?
I love my job and the personal contact with my clientele, which is why I am always available - even on evenings and weekends.
Why did you choose to become a real estate agent?
Because I like people! As a real estate agent I have the privilege of getting to know a very personal part of their lives, namely their homes, for a short period of time. The trust that my customers put into me at that moment is something I really appreciate and it makes me want to give my best.
Why are you working with RE/MAX?
As a RE/MAX agent I am independent yet not alone. RE/MAX offers their brand, an extensive network, regular advanced training, colleagues who I can exchange experiences with, substitution in case of absence and the chance for mutual success.
How has your daily work been impacted by the COVID pandemic?
Many of my customers appreciate me being personally present. Obviously, safety always comes first, which is why wearing masks, keeping a distance, using disinfectant and airing rooms and buildings have become self-evident.
Which skills does a real estate agent need in order to be successful?
A real estate agent needs to be able to empathize and to always lend an attentive ear to his or her customers. Lasting success requires diligence, frustration tolerance and perseverance.
What does your regional real estate market currently look like? What kind of developments are you expecting for the remainder of the year?
The demand for property has been rising exponentially for several months now, however, there is a shortage of supply, which is why we can expect prices to increase, especially for well maintained properties.
What are your recommendations for property owners toying with the idea of selling?
In order to prevent costly mistakes I think it is essential for potential sellers to get professional support, even in times of increasing real estate prices. Most potential buyers are very demanding and want professional assistance. Expertise matters - and a real estate expert can generate added value for both parties.
