The title for “Best Office” for the month of May has been awarded to RE/MAX Immobilien Belp. Despite the ongoing Corona pandemic, the last spring season was a particularly successful one for the real estate agency: Not only the agency itself but also one of their agents, Corinne Lehmann, have been honored, Lehmann with the title of “Best Agent of the Month”. The agency’s team knows that great things can only be achieved by working together. RE/MAX Switzerland got together with the proud award winners to find out how their everyday work has been impacted by Covid-19 and what developments they expect for the remainder of 2021. You have been awarded with the title of Best Office in May 2021. What is your recipe for success?

What sets your agency apart?
What definitely sets us apart is that we are an experienced team that has been working together well for many years. Together we will always be stronger, and combined we can offer around 65 years of experience in the real estate industry. That is a real benefit, especially for our customers.
Why are you working with RE/MAX?
As already mentioned further above, by working together you will always be stronger than by going alone. Of course we do not only profit from the knowledge and expertise shared in the office but also by other RE/MAX agencies and RE/MAX Switzerland. Working with agents in other regions (joint business) is another big plus. It is something you will only find with RE/MAX and it is something that is an added benefit for our customers.
How has your daily business been impacted by the Corona pandemic?
It has not really been affected that badly. It was not always easy to adhere to the hygienic guidelines according to BAG (Swiss Department of Health), such as only allowing a low number of people for house viewings and so on. Thanks to a range of digital tools (360° tours, etc) we managed to organize a lot of viewings online, which allowed us to prevent unnecessary contact with others in occupied apartments.
What motivates you to not give up in challenging times?
What is currently happening in your regional real estate market? What developments do you expect for the remainder of 2021?
There is an enormous demand for real estate at the moment. We expect this to stay that way throughout 2021. Since the outbreak of Covid-19, “living and space” have gained in importance for many people.
What recommendations do you have for real estate owners who are toying with the idea of selling their property?
The prices you can get when selling your property are very high at the moment, which usually means a nice lump sum of profit. However, if you are thinking of selling, you should carefully choose the agent or agency you are planning on going with. There are a number of real estate agents out there that are trying to win customers with teasers (such as no commission but rather an all-in offer). Be careful: The cheapest offer is rarely the best one!
What skills does a real estate agent require in order to be successful in today’s market?
One of the most important things is that he or she likes working with people. Furthermore, in order to succeed as a real estate agent, they should be honest and willing to work independently. It doesn’t hurt to have an extensive network - however, this is not a must.
