History of RE/MAX
Entrepreneurship and collaboration
In 1973, Dave Liniger, then 27 years old, founded RE/MAX in Denver (USA). The idea was for self-employed real estate agents to share office costs together in one office (desk-sharing model). His vision was to maximize real estate brokerage for all parties involved: Real Estate to the MAXimum. Real estate agents were given the opportunity to build their own business. His principle for success was "Everybody wins". In 1978, RE/MAX already united more than 1,000 independent RE/MAX partner companies in the USA.
From the USA to Europe
In 1997 the first German-speaking RE/MAX office was founded in Munich and in March 2000 the first RE/MAX office in Switzerland opened. At the beginning existing real estate offices could be won for RE/MAX. RE/MAX is proud that the pioneers of RE/MAX in Switzerland are also successful RE/MAX partners today.
RE/MAX in Switzerland
In 2000, the first RE/MAX offices were founded in Möhlin, Frick and Winterthur under the management of Teddy Keifer. Since 2017, the Swiss master franchise company has been managed by Rainer Jöhl. After an intensive growth phase, RE/MAX in Switzerland is now focusing back on the original values of founder Dave Liniger. Living and nurturing the values of RE/MAX are in front of a rapid growth.
